The Family of Lucretia Hopkins – Liebenow is sorry to announce the passing of Lucretia Hopkins Liebenow on the morning of January 14, 2023, people knew her as Lou.   Lou passed away at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family.  Lou was born on December 31, 1942 in Troy, New York, the daughter of the late Ruby Hopkins Witter and George Witter.   Lou was one of ten children of whom 5 of her siblings, Donald Witter, Geraldine Witter, Elaise Acsi, Dwight Witter and Amy Horton preceded her in death.   Lou is survived by her other 4 siblings: Clarence and Jane Witter, John Thomas and Barbara Horton, Seth Horton and Woodrow Witter.   Lou graduated in Pittsfield, MA.   Lucretia was a fun loving person who was always helping everyone.  She was an excellent cook and baker and she enjoyed knitting, needle point, quilting line dancing, bowling and a good card and board game.

Lou is also survived by her loving husband Frank Liebenow; sons: Stephen and Bentley of Columbia, South Carolina; David and Susan of Hatfield, MA and Robert and Lesley Hatfield, of MA.  Lou is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and very close friends who were like family.

Please join the family in a memorial service to be held at Pennbrooke Fairways, Leesburg, Florida on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.  Interment will take place in Cummington, MA at a later date.
