Obituary for Lucy Mae Roco

December 17, 1931 – June 5, 2025

Lucy Mae Roco, 93, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Iloilo, Philippines, on December 17, 1931, Lucy was the youngest of three children born to school teachers. She grew up alongside her older sister, Remy, and brother, Tony. Her heritage was rooted in both Filipino and American history—her grandfather served in the U.S. Army during the Philippine-American War, where he met and married her grandmother.

Lucy came to the United States in 1977 and settled in Orlando, Florida, where she built a beautiful life and legacy. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lucy's life was a testament to strength, resilience, and unconditional love. She will be remembered for her unwavering integrity, resourcefulness, and the deep affection she held for her large and loving family.

Lucy found joy in the simple pleasures of life like fishing, bowling, dancing, and, above all, gathering with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her eight children: Francisco (Bell), Filomena (Marco), Jose Maria (Lu-Lu), Emanuela, Carlos (Lisa), Constancia Conception (Ponciano), Clotilde (Mark), and Mariza (Christopher).

She was a proud grandmother to 21 grandchildren: Sean, Valerie, Eric, Anna, Alexandria, Nikolaus, Joseph, James, Samantha, Sherlyn, McCarlou, Jose Marie, Mary Ann, April, Pamela, Carlos, Ashley, Sarah, Heather, Christopher, and Makenzie.

Her legacy continues through her 24 great-grandchildren: Veya, Liam, Mase, Jinora, McKevin Xerxes, Samantha, Sean, Sadie, Zander, Camille, Christian, Manuel, Joe Marie, Christian Elijah, Joey May, Michael John, Naima, Dillon, Emma, Leigha, Harper, Chase, and Amelia.

Viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 1654 Semoran Blvd., Suite 130, Orlando, FL 32807.

A Celebration of Life Mass will take place on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1501 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL 32828.

Lucy Mae Roco's legacy of love, strength, and family devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
