Luther Abner, age 86, of Cape Coral, passed away on June 12, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.

Luther was born on January 17, 1937, in Buckhorn, KY, to John Abner and Bessie Mae (nee Sizemore) Abner. He moved to Cincinnati as a teenager, making it his home for the next 60 odd years. Starting out as a mechanic, he worked in the Heavy Equipment industry for the majority of his life, culminating to owning his own service company in the latter years. A talented banjo player, Luther loved frequenting Bluegrass festivals in his younger years, often being recognized by the musicians and invited to play on stage. He deeply loved his family, enjoyed traveling and hunting. You couldn't come between him and his tobacco.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tim & Connie Abner of Cincinnati, OH; daughter and son-in-law, T. Rene & Daniel Klein of Santa Clarita, CA; grandchildren, John Cebe of Cincinnati, Matt & Jodi Abner of Monroe, Ian Klein of Santa Clarita, E. Paxton Klein of Santa Clarita, and Ethan Klein of Santa Clarita; great grandchildren, Nora Abner and Isla Abner of Cincinnati, the apples of his eye; Darlene Long of Cape Coral; brothers Charley, Leslie, Taulbee, and Jerry; sisters Johnnie Faye, Mary Ann, Pauline, Norma Jean, Phyllis, and Ruth.

A family memorial service will be held in Cincinnati at a later date.
