On September 19, 2026, Lynda S. Henderson 81 of Ocala, Florida passed away quietly at home with her husband and son at her side.

Lynda was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in the surrounding Maryland suburbs. In high school, she met her husband, Kenneth Henderson. After dating for many years, Lynda and Kenneth were married in September 1965.

Lynda is survived by her husband and two children, Michael Henderson, a Mobile ICU Nurse of Clark, N.J. and Cheryl Henderson, a Sergeant in the Hillsborough County Sherrif's Department of Tampa, FL both of whom she was immensely proud and beloved granddaughter Paige Henderson of Long Island, pursuing a PHD in genetics. She is also survived by her two sisters Patricia Sharpe of Gardnerville, NV and Elizabeth (Betsy) Baker of Virginia Beach, VA, as well as nephew, Clark Baker of Edgewater, Md and several great nieces and nephews.

Lynda worked in customer care for the original Bell System in Maryland and California, and for AT&T in New Jersey and North Carolina. But her main calling in life was her family. Lynda was the consummate wife and mother, always the one volunteering for chaperone duties and just supporting her children in and out of their educational process and through life. Even later in life she was always pleased to see young children with their parents and hear their delighted laughs and giggles.

Lynda's passion became helping others. First while living in Puerto Rico, she became a hospital volunteer and after retiring, she volunteered in a chemotherapy clinic in North Carolina and surgical recovery in Florida. She also volunteered for multiple years delivering Meals on Wheels to seniors in Ocala, FL, always giving of herself and her time.

She will be missed by her family, friends, caregivers, and anyone who spent any time enjoying her smile and enjoyment of life.
