Lynda Alice
Johnston
May 6, 1947 — Oct 2, 2026
The Villages
It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Lynda Alice Johnston, who departed this world on October 2, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on May 6, 1947, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Lynda was a beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth and zest for life.
Lynda was proceeded in death and the beloved daughter of Richard and Gladys Dworak. She is survived by her dear sisters, Carol Konecy and Kathy Dworak. Her loving spirit is carried on by her devoted husband, Jeff, whom she shared 14 beautiful years of marriage with, filled with travel, laughter, and love. Together, they embraced life to its fullest, creating a tapestry of memories that will be cherished forever.
Lynda is also survived by her stepchildren, Taggart Johnston, Toby Johnston, Kristin Hartung and Cynthia Phalen as well as many adoring grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. Lynda's professional life was marked by her dedication to the dental field, where she worked until her retirement in 2012. She found great fulfillment in helping her patients, especially young teenagers, achieve better dental health and brighter smiles.
A woman of faith, Lynda and Jeff found solace and community at The Garden Worship Center in Belleview, where they were both baptized. Lynda held her pastor, Norman Lee Schaffer, in high regard, often sharing with friends and family how he led her to the Lord.
Outside of her professional and spiritual life, Lynda was an avid golfer. Her "golfing girls" were a cherished part of her life, offering support and companionship, particularly after her cancer diagnosis. Lynda's love for life was evident in her passion for dancing "down at the squares" with Jeff and attending the Wisconsin State Fair, where she delighted in the music of her favorite performer, Tom Anthony.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Patel and his dedicated staff at the Florida Cancer Center in Ocala, whose exceptional care granted Lynda and Jeff four more precious years together. They would also like to thank the compassionate team at Cornerstone Hospice for their support during Lynda's final days.
In honor of Lynda's life and her deep connection to her faith, the family requests that donations be made to The Garden Worship Center in Belleview, Florida.
Lynda Alice Johnston will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her. Her legacy of love, laughter, and faith will endure in the hearts of those she touched.
