IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marcia J.
"Janie" Williams
January 27, 1951 – December 3, 2024
Marcia J. "Janie" Williams, age 73 of Palm Harbor, Florida, departed her earthly tabernacle on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Janie is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father, and Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Although there is a big hole in our hearts, we can now begin to fill it with all the beautiful memories; and there are many.
Janie was born in Flora, Illinois on January 27, 1951 to Gene M. DeSelms and Audrey Jean "Aldrich" DeSelms. Janie graduated from Cisne Illinois High School where she was a straight A student, and also a cheerleader for the Cisne High School Basketball team. After graduating from high school, she attended Southern Illinois University until her future husband Mike graduated. Then she was married to Michael "Mike" Williams on September 13, 1970.
Janie subsequently graduated with a double major in elementary and special education from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. She later utilized both her degrees while teaching in Pawnee, IL, Arcola, IL, Charleston, IL., and finally in Carmel, IN. Janie was a gift to her students, and loved by all. She was a member of various women's clubs in Illinois and Indiana, and after moving to Florida she was involved in a women's tennis league and book club for many years.
Janie is survived by her husband Mike, three children, the oldest being her daughter Kory Williams of Oldsmar, FL, and then two sons: Josh and Sean Williams. Josh and his wife Catherine live in Clearwater, FL and have two wonderful sons; Tristan and Landon. Sean and his wife Michelle, who live in Seymour, TN also have two wonderful children, a son, Ethan, and a daughter, Ellie. Our children and grandchildren were the light of Janie's life. She lived to love and do for them.
Janie is also survived by two sisters; Karen "DeSelms" Cooksey of Chicago, IL, and Julie "DeSelms" Cossaboon of St. Petersburg, FL. Janie is also survived by her brother Matt DeSelms of New Port Richey, FL.
Janie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a great friend to many. She is and will be greatly missed. No words can express our sincere love for her.
Family and friends will be hosting a "Celebration of Life" for Janie on January 26th, the day before her birthday, and then the family will be having dinner together in her honor on her birthday.
