Marcia Lee
Puhalsky
June 4, 2026 – October 2, 1938
Marcia Lee Baker Middleton Puhalsky (87), of Edgewater, Florida passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026. Marcia was born on October 2, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Franklin Baker and Marcelle Alverna Nickel; her sisters, Jeanne Howard, Bonnie Holtmann Bobbitt; and niece, Cindy Howard.
A proud graduate of Fairview High School's Class of 1956 (Dayton, OH). Marcia later attended Riverside City College in California where she took gerontology and accounting courses. She worked in the accounting offices of Parkview Community Hospital (Riverside, CA) until she retired. She volunteered at her daughters' schools helping young children learn to read. Reading was her passion. She especially loved reading books on history and "who done its". She was known for her quiet smile and subtle sense of humor. She liked dogs, camping, and traveling. Don't let her time in California or Florida mislead you, she was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Marica's life was deeply enriched by her family and friends. She is remembered with love by her daughters Luann Hovis (and granddaughter, Katherine Hovis) and Jenny Middleton (and Chelle' Martin); Brother-in-laws Gordon Howard and Bob Bobbitt; Nieces and nephews Mike (and Rochelle Howard), Donnie (and Libby Holtmann), Wendy (and Jeff Price).
Upon the birth of her granddaughter, Katie, she became known as "Omie". As her only grandchild they were incredible pals, spending time together in the kitchen, playing games, doing arts and crafts, and watching movies like "Annie" and "Momma Mia".
In 2015 she moved to Florida to be closer to Jenny and Luann, and she became the "Omie" of the neighborhood where she met so many nice people. She enjoyed her time reading, doing puzzles, enjoying nature, and music.
Services for Marcia are currently private and at the discretion of her family. In lieu of sending flowers, please plant something pretty. She loved daisies, begonias and hibiscus.
