Margaret Thorne
Barlow
Aug 12, 1943 — Aug 28, 2026
Margaret Barlow, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Cornerstone Hospice House in The Villages, Florida, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Panama City, Florida, Margaret lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and devotion to the people she loved most.
Margaret’s children and grandchildren were truly the loves of her life. She delighted in being part of their activities and especially enjoyed cheering them on at sporting events. Christmas was her favorite season, and she made it wonderfully memorable. She often began decorating in October and kept the celebration going into January, stretching the joy as long as she could. Her homemade Christmas candies and cookies were eagerly anticipated each year and lovingly enjoyed by family and friends alike.
For many years, Margaret was the proud owner of the Big B Restaurant and Motel in Wewahitchka, Florida. The Big B became a beloved gathering place for the town. Some might say that was because it was the only restaurant in town, but those who knew Margaret would say it was because of Ms. B. Her warmth, hard work, and welcoming spirit made people feel at home.
Margaret is survived by Robin (Don) Boring, Bubba Boring, Nicole (Bryan) Brister, Kayla Barlow, and Bobby Barlow; five grandchildren, Darby Blais, Rebecca Humpreys, Ethen Beatty, Mikey Sapp, and Waylon Sims; her siblings, Betty Lee, Randy Joyce Albert, Teresa Redd, Randall Thorne, and Becki Adams; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Grace Thorne, and her siblings Jennifer, Olin, Mavis, Jackie, Peggy, and Jack.
Margaret was a faithful member of the house of God, a devoted prayer warrior, and a strong advocate for her family. She gave generously of her time, offered support whenever she could, and, most importantly, spent countless hours praying for her family, friends, and anyone in need. Her faith, love, and steady presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.
