Margaret came to the United States alone at the age of 20 years and worked as a governess at the home of an affluent family in Baltimore, Maryland. At the end of one year she moved to Kansas City, Missouri to join two other English girls she had met in Baltimore. She met Bruce in Kansas City in 1967 and married on October 4, 1969. The arrival of their first child, Brian Michael, came on November 2, 1970. In September of 1971, the family moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida and other than a one year job transfer to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the family has resided in Florida. Brian was joined by brother, Brent William on February 3, 1973, sister, Monica Lea on August 7, 1977 (who now dwells with God), and sister, Debra Lynn on January 1, 1979. Margaret's siblings were Frankie, Gladys, Robbie, and Billy; her grandchildren were Braden William, Bryce Christopher, Elise Corinne and Brianna Lea.  Margaret's parents were William Close and Katherine Close. "Margaret will always be treasured as a loving mother, adoring grandmother, devoted wife, and loyal friend. She had a kind heart with an energetic, lovable personality. She will be greatly missed."
