Margaret Elizabeth "Peggy" George, 88, housewife, passed away May 23, 2022, at Estelle's Hospice House in Ocala Florida, after a short illness.  She was born in 1933, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to John C. Layton and Mary(Vanderstine)Layton.  In 1950, she married Chris George in Elkton, Maryland, after he returned from serving in the army in Japan and Korea. Their four children were all born in Philadelphia, and the family moved to Ocala, Florida, in June, 1968.

Mrs. George is survived by two sisters, Mary "Midge" M.  Dunham of Ocala Florida and Helen Blazic of Pennsylvania, and four children:  Chris G. George (Michelle), Pamela M. George, Michael D. George (Frances), and Nicholas D. George. She also leaves behind six grandchild, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death

by her husband of 67 years, Chris George, infant son John, a brother, Robert J Layton, and a sister, Joan Layton Bootel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
