On Thursday, August 23, 2022, Maria Thereza Caraballo, loving mother, sister, and friend, passed away at the age of 81. Maria was born on December 23, 1940 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and came to the USA in 1966. Soon after, she moved to Miami and spent most of her life in Florida, where she raised two children, Angela Klemme and Daniel Caraballo.

A lifelong Catholic, Maria was active in the church, and most recently was a volunteer "grandma" with a local school. She was also active in the local Brazilian community, helping many people get started in a new country. She loved to entertain and will be fondly remembered for her delicious food.

Maria was predeceased by her parents, Milton Arruda and Daria Arruda. She is survived by her children Angela Klemme and Daniel Caraballo, granddaughter Allyson Shifflett, sisters Marilia Brandao, Mariana Arruda, and Sonia dos Santos, brother Milton Arruda, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, Florida at 10 o'clock a.m. Flowers for the mass may be sent to 1020 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 for delivery by September 25.
