Maria Sinclair died on January 10, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her husband of 62 years, David Sinclair, her daughters Jessica Klosterman (Jeff) of Sarasota, FL and Debra Hatfield (Christian) of Santa Clarita, CA, and her son Robert Sinclair (Lisa) of Del Mar, CA.  She is also survived by her beloved seven grandchildren: Dalton Forman (Rachel), Heather Pitts(Michael), Isabelle Hatfield, Amory Klosterman, David Hatfield (preceded), Caitlin Sinclair, and Natalie Sinclair. She was blessed to also have three great-grandchildren: Magnolia, Asa, and Jonathan Forman. Born on February 18,1942 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to Francisca Martinez (preceded). One of four children, she is survived by sisters Maggie Rivera and Norma Usera Martinez both of Barranquitas, brother Miguel Guzman (preceded) of San Juan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, .Maria graduated Baptist Academy of Barranquitas and met the love of her life David while he was serving in the US Navy. They moved to New York where they raised three children and ran a successful chain of convenience/drugstores. After moving to Sarasota in 1984, they continued in family businesses, including Sarasota Business Brokerage. Later, Maria became a CNA in order to give back to the community and spent over 25years working in Assisted Living / Memory Care.  Upon retirement she became an avid walker, enjoyed bird watching, growing her abundance of orchids, and traveling west to enjoy time with her family. Maria would always take the time to greet a stranger and had a welcoming smile no matter where she went. She took comfort in her faith and trust in God, with whom she now spends eternity with. Until we meet again. A private celebration of life will be held.
