Obituary

Santo Domingo graced this world with the remarkable presence of Maria Solano on September 2, 1951. A beacon of joy and positivity, Maria's life was a testament of resilience, creativity, and love. It is with heavy hearts that we are gathered today to celebrate her life which ended on March 17, 2026.

Maria was the beloved daughter of Crescencio and Antonia, who instilled in her the values of faith, family, and community. These values were the foundation upon which she built her life, becoming a cornerstone of support and love for her family and all who knew her. Maria's laughter was infectious, her charisma undeniable, and her positivity unwavering, characteristics that drew people towards her warmth and light.

Maria graduated from the University Autonoma of Santo Domingo with a Bachelor's degree in Art, a testament to her passion and dedication to the creative world. Her talent was not confined to the canvas; she painted on anything she could find, from pillows to old juice bottles, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Maria's professional life was as diverse as her artistic endeavors. She was a devoted homemaker, a nurturing presence at the heart of her family. When the opportunity arose, she tutored Spanish; and even lent her skills as a hairdresser when her friend's salon was in need. Yet, it was in her role as a homemaker that Maria truly shined, creating a warm and welcoming environment for her loved ones.

An active member of her church community, Maria's piety was a guiding force throughout her life. Her faith was a source of strength, not just for herself but for those around her. She devoted herself to her church with boundless love and dedication, God was truly at the center of her life.

Maria's hobbies reflected her zest for life. She loved caring for plants; found joy in cooking, wrote daily poems. Stories captivated her, whether in the pages of a book or on the screen; she also loved dancing, partying and having fun: a testament to her spirited nature.

Maria Solano's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and creativity, woven together with a deep sense of joy and purpose. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. As we celebrate her life, we hold onto the laughter she shared, the art she created, and the love she gave so freely.

Maria is survived by her devoted children, Georges and Francefca, and her five grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her heart.

As we bid farewell to Maria, let us remember her with the same joy and warmth she brought into our lives. May her soul rest in peace, embraced by the love she so generously shared with the world.
