Marie Carmen Glick of the Villages, Florida passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, at the age of 103. Marie was born on July 10, 1921, in Puerto Rico. When her mother died during childbirth, her father and aunt decided to bring her by boat to the United States where they settled in Brooklyn, New York. Her father died when Marie was seven and she was raised in a Catholic orphanage until she turned 18. Marie met and married Sidney Glick and lived in Forest Hills, Queens, New York where she raised her two children Gerald Glick and Darlene (Glick) Zanoni. Marie enjoyed oil painting, she also volunteered at the New York Foundling Hospital in Manhattan, N.Y for 15 years. Marie continued to live in Forest Hills after her husband died in 1989. She always said her father raised her up to be an independent woman. She loved to travel and went to Alaska and many of the National Parks. She went to Europe, the Middle East and parts of Asia. Marie was a very friendly person and made friends wherever she went. She loved going with her friends to the ballet and the theater. She enjoyed spending time in Manhattan going to concerts and museums. After living in Forest Hills, NY for 70 years, she moved in with her daughter Darlene and her son-in-law Rudy in the Villages, Florida. Marie leaves behind her son Gerald Glick of Jackson Heights, NY and daughter Darlene (Glick) Zanoni of the Villages, Florida, her grandchildren Kevin Zanoni and his wife Cristine Zanoni of Staten Island, N.Y., Nicholas Zanoni of Staten Island, NY, Joanna (Zanoni) Modrich and her husband Nathan Modrich of Manchester Township, N.J., her great grandchildren Carmine Zanoni, Angelina Zanoni, Vianna Zanoni of Staten Island, N.Y, and Rosalia Modrich of Manchester Township, N.J.
