Marie Elardo Hicks (82) passed away October 31, 2024, at her home in Mt. Dora, FL. Marie was born May 8, 1942, in Uniontown, PA to Carmen and Connie Elardo. Marie moved to Florida as a teen, where she attended St. Petersburg High School. Shortly after graduating, Marie met and married her husband, Bob. They settled in Orlando to raise a family. Marie attended the Florida Technological University (UCF) earning a degree in History. She went on to have a rewarding career helping children in need as a Social Worker for the State of Florida. Marie was a life-long dog lover and found the most joy from Casper, Omar, Higgins and Zoey. Marie is predeceased by her parents Carmen and Connie Elardo and her brother Joeseph. She is survived by Bob, her husband of 63 years, her son Tom (Carolyn), and her grandsons Andrew (Sydney) and Matthew. A memorial service will be held February 15 ^th at 11:00am at the Garden of Life Chapel at Waterman Village, 445 Waterman Ave Mt. Dora, FL. Interment will follow at a later date in Uniontown, PA.
