Obituary

Marilyn Louise Dobrzanski, age 81, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away peacefully and pain‑free on February 10, 2026.

Born on February 8, 1945, Marilyn graduated from the University of Florida and went on to dedicate almost 50 years to education as a high school math teacher and tutor. Fondly known as “Mrs. D,” she inspired generations of students with her patience, intelligence, and unwavering belief in their potential. She had a remarkable gift for making even the most challenging equations feel manageable and never hesitated to stay after school to help a struggling student succeed.

Beyond the classroom, Marilyn’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is lovingly survived by her children, Mary Giulivo (Thomas) and Christine Wojnar (Stanley†); her cherished grandchildren, Alicia Walker (Michael), Benjamin Giulivo, and Jacqueline Giulivo; and her beloved great-grandson, Declan Walker. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Bell (David†), and her brother, David Spragg (Sherry).

Marilyn loved deeply and wholeheartedly. She carried herself with quiet strength and grace, offering steady support and encouragement to those around her. Her warmth made others feel at ease, and her kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a lifelong appreciation for French Impressionist art and a love for the color red, which reflected her vibrant spirit. Her legacy lives on in every lesson taught, every problem solved, and every life made better by her presence.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who were blessed to call her Mom, Grandma, Greaty, and friend.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick, Ohio. A luncheon will follow the Funeral Mass at the church. All are welcome to attend.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Halifax Health Hospice Port Orange Care Center for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made online at: Give to Halifax Health Hospice.
