Obituary

Marilyn Ruth Dyer, beloved wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, and friend to all, passed away peacefully on February 10 th , 2025, in The Villages, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. She was 87 years old and sweet and kind as she was every day of her life.

She came into this world on December 11, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Russ and Ruth Martin. Marilyn's life was a testament to kindness, grace, and unwavering love. She married the love of her life, Jim Dyer, and together they built a beautiful life filled with joy and adventure. Their journey led them to many places, such as China, Europe, Alaska and eventually finding their home in Central Florida. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Cathy, John and Tom, who were the light of Marilyn's life (most of the time).

Marilyn will be fondly remembered for her sweet nature and gentle spirit. She had a remarkable ability to touch the lives of everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression of warmth and compassion. Many who knew her said she was one of the kindest people they had ever met, and she had a great sense of humor.

Marilyn worked as a Medical Records and Quality Assurance Director in the Detroit area before retiring to Florida in 2001. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout Leader, PTA president and macrame business owner, but her greatest joy came from her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations to come. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and unwavering devotion.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Jim, her children, John, Cathy (Eric) and Tom (Lynn), her four grandchildren, her brother Jerry (Martha) and her wider family and friends who were touched by her kind spirit.

After cremation, she will be interred at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. An online memorial service to celebrate Marilyn's life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).

Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.  Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com .
