Marilyn Gertrude Kanar, 90, of Fort Myers, FL, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021, at her home, surrounded by family and her long-time caregiver.  Marilyn was born in Syracuse, NY, on November 29th, 1930, to Donald and Arlene Gates, and she spent the first fifty years of her life living in Onondaga County close to beloved family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; her parents; her brothers, Edward and Lawrence; and her sister, Kathy.  She is survived by her youngest brother, Howard (Joanne) of Liverpool; her sons, Ronald and David (Euraldine); her grandchildren, Amie, Courtney (Robert), Emily (William), Ethan (Jade), and Joshua (Karen); her five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service is Saturday, September 11 ^th , 2021, at 10 AM at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Fort Myers.
