Mario
DeVito
Jan 31, 1935 — Oct 24, 2026
Wednesday
St. Mark the Evangelist RC Church
10:00 - 11:00 am (Eastern time)
Mario DeVito was born Jan 31, 1935 in Long Branch, NJ to Salvatore and Barbara DeVito. He graduated from Long Branch High School in 1953 and joined the US Navy as a proud Seabee. After his active duty he was employed by Jersey Central Power and Light and retired as a Chief Lineman. He is survived by his wife Helen; his sons John (Lillian), Rick (Vanessa); five grands and 10 great grands; as well as many beloved nieces; and nephews. He is also survived by his brother Robert whom he was very close to. He is preceded in death by his brothers Joseph and Auggie and his sister Mary DeLisa.
He moved to The Villages in 2003 and was very active with his church, golf and fishing. His first love however was St. Mark Church where he spent countless hours helping in anyway he could. He became permanently disabled in 2013 but that didn’t stop him. He became an inspiration to all who met him. He was a traveling angel on his scooter wherever he went, spreading smiles, kindness and joy. He loved his God, family and friends and he will be missed immeasurably.
We give special thanks to Salisa Hereda from Visiting Angels for the constant and loving care for the 5 years she took care of him and to Cornerstone Hospice for the care he received in his final days.
Funeral will be at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church on Nov. 11, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
