IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marion Goldie
(Boyle) Roberts
January 3, 1928 – January 17, 2026
Marion Goldie (Boyle) Roberts, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Born on January 3, 1928, Marion lived a long life rich in love, resilience, and unwavering faith.
Marion was the middle girl in her family, and she was saddened by the loss of her sisters, Margaret and Charlotte, in recent years. She was the proud mother of eight children who live throughout the U.S.: Mary Lee, Susan, Vern, Jack, Terry, Chris, Allison, and Jennifer. She cherished her family deeply and was a constant source of support and encouragement. Her love extended to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. Unconditional love for family is the beautiful legacy she leaves them.
Growing up during the Great Depression, Marion developed a profound appreciation for life's simple pleasures. She conquered numerous health challenges beginning in her sixties, including three battles with cancer, yet her spirit remained strong.
Though Marion moved away after retirement, she always felt a strong connection to her home in Cincinnati, the Mount Adams neighborhood and its church community. After moving, she lived with several of her children over the years, including in the Chicago area, Tucson, AZ, New Braunfels, TX, and ultimately settled in Northeast Florida with daughters, where she spent her final 12 years. The beach was her happy place.
Travel was a passion for Marion, as she embarked on many wonderful adventures with her sisters and adult children across Europe, the United States, and Canada. A lifelong learner, Marion's thirst for knowledge extended well beyond her education at St. Xavier Commercial High School (1944). She was widely read and mastered the Internet and electronic devices in her eighties and nineties. Even when travel became difficult, she explored the world through virtual tours on YouTube. She enjoyed keeping up with family and friends through FaceBook and email.
Marion's deep Catholic faith guided her throughout her life and was a cornerstone of her identity. She was always there to lend an ear, ready to listen and play with her grandchildren, embodying the very essence of a loving mother and grandmother.
Marion said that the secret to a long and happy life was to always have something to look forward to. She lived for her family gatherings, and had just celebrated her 98th birthday surrounded by many children and grandchildren.
Marion will be dearly missed by her family and all who had the privilege to know her. Her life was a beautiful testament to love, strength, and faith, leaving a lasting impact on all of our hearts. She will forever continue to watch over her family and send her "Oceans of Love" from Heaven above.
