Mark was funny and full of laughter.  He expressed his faith in God as, "My Dad takes care of me every day." He fed the homeless, comforted widows, and could empathize with those who knew loss and pain. He invested himself into the people around him and will be dearly missed. He loved the blues and classic rock– especially the music of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton.

Mark graduated from Tremper HS. He served on the Kenosha School Board at the age of 18 as the youngest elected official in Wisconsin. He was recognized for his community service as a police officer with the Village of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and was semi-retired as part-time handyman, jokester and raconteur in Cape Coral/Ft Myers, FL for the last several years.

Mark is survived by two sons, Jack and Jed Hunter, his brothers, Matt (Laura) Hunter, John (Cyndy) Hunter, and his sister, Ruth Duran (née Hunter), along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew Hunter, Jr. and Velma Hunter (née Green), and his son, Jeramiah Hunter.

A private memorial service will be held by family and friends.
