Obituary

Mark H. Jansa, 57, of North Port, FL, died peacefully June 27, 2024 after a long illness.

He leaves his mother, Marilyn; sister, Nancy James; brother, Anthony and significant other Andrea and his family; brother, David and his wife Barb and their family; Aunt, Olga Bill and her family; Aunt, Jackie Harig and her family; best friend, Taylar Isenhauer and friend, Wes Kuzmiak.

Mark was born in New Providence, NJ, and then later attended Glenbard South High School in Glen Ellyn, IL. While in Illinois, he worked in the automotive industry doing body work, painting and car maintenance and repair.

Mark was proud to serve in the Navy on the U.S.S. New Jersey during the Gulf War as an electrician. He was able to visit many foreign ports in the Pacific Region while deployed. After the Navy, he worked in construction doing a variety of jobs including concrete, framing, roofing and electrical.

Mark's favorite pastime was riding his motorcycle all over the back roads in Sarasota, Charlotte and DeSota Counties. He especially enjoyed his vacations on his bike in the Smokey Mountains around the Murphy, NC area, including "The Tail of the Dragon" more than once. Even with his recent disabilities he still enjoyed riding and working on his bike.

There will be a no viewing.

Immediate family and friends will scatter his ashes at sea per his request.

Mark will be most remembered for his unique and insightful sense of humor, his care for friends and family members in need, and his courageous battles against mental and physical challenges.
