IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark B.
Martin
July 27, 1962 – May 11, 2018
Mark Brendan Martin, a resident of South Ft. Myers, Florida died suddenly on May 11, 2018. He passed away 39 years to the day of when the Lord almost took him in a tragic accident as a teenager. He was 55 years young, a devout and loving father and grandfather, ever loyal brother and lastly, the truly compassionate listener of a friend with the most infectious smile, laugh and a sense of humor which will always be remembered.
Despite some physical limitations, Mark lived life to the fullest and found the rainbow and sunshine in each and every person, moment and day in life. His knowledge was limitless and his selflessness and loyalty to family and friends was endearing. Mark's smile, engaging personality and charm made him a magnet to the ladies all the days of his life. His passions in life included the absolute love of listening to music especially Neil Young, fishing in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico in Florida, watching his Philadelphia E-A-G-L-E-S and spending time with family at the beach in Wildwood Crest, NJ.
After attending LaSalle College High School, Mark graduated from Northeast Preparatory High School and later attended Penn State University. He was previously employed in the real estate sales and development industry.
Born and raised in the Fox Chase area (St. Cecilia's) of Northeast Philadelphia, Mark was the beloved son of Denis and Theresa Martin. Mark was preceded in death by his newborn brother and sister, Denise and Denis Martin. He was the loving father of Kristy Marie Martin, Mark Kieran Martin and grandfather of Charles. He is survived by his brothers Daniel Martin (Rosemarie) of Clermont, Fl. and his double trouble/Irish twin brother, Michael Martin (Lynn Keeley) of Fort Myers, Fl. Lastly, he is survived by his sister, his "angel" and tireless advocate Theresa Martin LoStracco (Michael) of Doylestown, Pa. He was the fun, comedian of an uncle to his nieces Shannon-Nicole and Madison (LoStracco).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mark's name may be made to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a child, while recuperating at CHOP, Mark would help the newborn babies in the pediatric cancer unit by holding them for hours and comforting their tears. He had a natural way with children and people which was unique and readily visible at a young age. Funeral services for Mark will be held privately.
To those wishing to share condolences with the family c/o Theresa Martin LoStracco, Esquire 416 Mahogany Ct, Doylestown, Pa. 18901.
