IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark
Voelker
October 10, 1949 – February 7, 2026
Mark Voelker, October 10, 1949 – February 7, 2026.
With deep love and affection for his wife, Pam Voelker, we remember Mark as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, educator, and mentor whose impact reached far beyond the classroom.
He is survived by his beloved spouse, Pam Voelker; his children, Matthew Voelker and Christy Beidel; their spouses, Louise Voelker and Kent Beidel; and his cherished grandchildren, Sophia and Madison Beidel, and Jack and Charlie Voelker. His children were the light of his life, and he cherished every opportunity to teach them, guide them, and celebrate them.
For 36 years, Mark dedicated his professional life to serving the Kansas City, Missouri area as a high school social studies and economics teacher. Teaching was never just a job—it was his calling. He had a rare gift for igniting curiosity, encouraging critical thinking, and helping young people see their potential.
Beyond the classroom, Mark was a high school football coach, weight-room mentor, and steady presence for students from dawn until dusk. Many of the lessons he taught extended far beyond academics—shaping character, confidence, and resilience in ways his students often recognized only years later.
An Eagle Scout at heart, Mark lived by values of service, integrity, and community. He was an aspiring golfer, enjoyed crossword puzzles, drawing, weightlifting, traveling, and pickleball, and remained a lifelong learner. Music was one of his greatest passions—he loved to dance, share songs, and bring people together through sound and rhythm.
Mark had a unique presence. He could turn a two-minute conversation into heartfelt conversations filled with humor, insight, and warmth. Wherever he went, he brought joy, laughter, and connection. He will be remembered as a man who gave selflessly to others, believed deeply in the future, and devoted his life to helping young people grow into who they were meant to become. His legacy lives on through his family, his students, and the countless lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends and community members to honor Mark’s lifelong love of fitness, teaching, and mentorship by contributing to gofund.me established in his name to improve and expand the Circle Woods community fitness and weight room. This space meant a great deal to Mark, and enhancing it will allow his passion for strength, growth, and community to live on.
Donations may be made by check, payable to Circle Woods Activities and sent to 571 Circlewood Dr. Venice, FL 34293.
