On Thursday, March 12, 2026, Marlin Anthony Bigelow passed away at the age of 55. Anthony was born on January 29, 1971, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Marlin and Catherine Bigelow. He was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Bigelow, and his mother, Catherine Ezinga.
He is survived by his three children, Kimberly (Brent) Badal, Bret (Leslie) Bigelow, and Josie Ann Bigelow; his brothers, Andy (Nicole) Bigelow and John (Karen) Bigelow; his sisters, Catherine Hall and Mettie (Larry) Groen; three grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and several very dear friends, including members of his work family.
Anthony spent many years working in manufacturing and maintenance until health challenges made it difficult for him to continue.
He was a man who lived life to the fullest—humorous, fun-loving, and unforgettable. While he could have a gruff exterior at times, it often shielded a deeply sensitive and caring heart.
Though he enjoyed cards and games, Anthony was most at home outdoors. He loved nature, the Florida beaches, and the waterways, where he spent time fishing and boating—two of his greatest passions.
A devoted Michigan Wolverines football fan, Anthony could often be found proudly wearing Michigan gear, no matter the occasion—even at the beach or out on the boat.
Above all else, Anthony loved his family with his whole heart. Though life brought its share of complexities, his love for them never wavered.
He had a way of capturing hearts with his booming voice, playful personality, and sharp sense of humor. He delighted in teasing others with his quick wit, stirring up laughter and spirited banter wherever he went. Those who knew him will always remember the twinkle in his eye, his mischievous grin, and the gentleness behind his larger-than-life presence.
In his final days, Anthony’s humor and spirit never faded. He fought bravely until his Lord called him home.
