It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marshall Zachary Barker, 33, of Fort Myers, Florida, who passed away peacefully at home with family on December 29, 2025. He left this world far too soon. He was born on December 24, 1992, in Edgewood, Kentucky. Marshall was a bright spirit who filled the lives of those around him with love and laughter.
Marshall was preceded in death by his father, Todd Barker, grandfather, Raymond Reinert, and uncle, Guy Reinert.
He is survived by his loving mother, Kelly Reinert; brothers, Ashton and Landon; grandmother, Judy Reinert of Fort Myers, Florida; and grandparents, Myron and Jan Barker of Crestview Hills, Kentucky; aunt, Sherry (William) Goodridge; uncles, Tracy (Anne) Barker, Terry (Ellie) Barker; his cousins, Briana, Drew, Morgan, Taylor, Brooke, Brady, Brandon, and Devin. He also leaves behind many wonderful family and friends who were fortunate enough to know him.
From a young age, Marshall embodied the spirit of adventure and innocent mischief. He delighted in playing outside, playing sports, using computers, and exploring the world around him. His early years were marked by a curiosity and passion for gaming, which brought him immense challenges, entertainment, and friendships from around the world.
In recent years, Marshall used his sales and marketing skills in a successful management position with Ace Hardware in Florida. While at Ace, he demonstrated dedication to a strong work ethic. He was not only a committed employee but also a kind-hearted individual who always found time to lend a helping hand.
For Marshall, nothing compared to being surrounded by good friends and family, who were the cornerstone of his life. His vibrant, intelligent personality will always be remembered. The impact that Marshall had on those who knew him cannot be overstated. He was a bright young man with a kind heart and an infectious spirit. His passing leaves a deep void, yet his memory will continue to inspire love, kindness, and much laughter in others.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at noon, at Mother of God Church, 119 West 6th Street, Covington, Kentucky, to honor the cherished memories of this remarkable young man. In lieu of flowers and donations, his family kindly requests just your presence, prayers, and love.
Following the funeral service, please join us for a celebration of Marshall's life at Pee Wee's Place, 2325 Anderson Road, Crescent Springs, Kentucky.
Gone but NEVER forgotten you are forever in our hearts and memories.
