Mary
Brandt
February 6, 1927 – May 24, 2021
Mary Jo Brandt was born on February 6, 1927 in the rural hills of Tennessee. She went to her Lord and Savior on May 24, 2021. Mary left her home in Tennessee at the age of 15 and took a train to live with her sister Ann in Chicago Illinois. While working in a jewelry store, she met her future husband, Robert Brandt. They married and had three children, Eileen, Robert and William. Mary was a wonderful woman and was loved by everyone who had the chance to meet her. She had a laugh that was contagious and tears would role down her face when she was tickled over something. Her home became the hangout of all the neighborhood children and no one was ever denied a lunch, dinner or a slice of her homemade pie. She and my father eventually purchased a second home in Northern Wisconsin where she would spend hours catching her favorite fish Crappie. She learned how to quilt and became a master at producing the most beautiful quilts that you ever saw. She especially enjoyed making baby quilts and giving them out to young mothers. She leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and her daughter Eileen. Her final wishes were to be cremated and her ashes spread in a field of wildflowers. We will all miss our sweet Mama Mary and look forward to when we meet again at the gates to heaven! The family would like to thank from our hearts, the wonderful nurses and staff at the Health Park Hope Hospice House in Fort Myers, that took such good care of her in her final days.
