August 15, 1946 – June 2, 2021
Mary Alice Shipley Cambron died peacefully last Wednesday, June 2, with her family at her side.
She was raised in Northern Kentucky and graduated from Erlanger Lloyd High School ( Erlanger, KY ) in 1964, the University of Kentucky with a BA in Math and a MA in Statistical Analysis. For her four undergraduate years, she lived in the UK Kappa Delta sorority house ~ and made many devoted friends, whose bonds of affection have lasted for her lifetime.
Mary Alice was predeceased by her dear parents, Alice Todd Shipley, and Charles Vernon Shipley. She leaves behind son Andrew Cambron ( Sara ), daughters Kate Baum ( Eric ), and Emily Cambron, 4 grandchildren ( Skylar, Lauren, Mary Jane, and Andrew ), two sisters Vivian Shipley and Linda Shipley, and husband Richard Baldwin.
She moved with her young family to Florida in 1984, raised her children in Winter Park ~ taught high school math for many years ( at both WPHS and FL Virtual School ), and enjoyed the friendships of a host of beloved and loyal friends.
Mary Alice will be remembered as owner of a large Tupperware franchise in Anchorage, KY before she moved to Winter Park. Locally, Mary Alice was very active in the PTA at Dommerich Elementary, Maitland Middle School, and Winter Park High School. She also served as the President of Weekends, an organization helping high school students make positive choices. In addition, Mary Alice was an active member of the Junior League of Greater Orlando and on the Council of 101 for the Orlando Art Museum.
Mary Alice's life will be celebrated on Sunday, June 13 th , at 11:00AM, at the Winter Park Racquet Club with the Reverend Dr. Bob Bushong officiating. She will be laid to rest at Palm Cemetery in Winter Park.
Friends who are inclined, are invited to make gifts to the DePugh Nursing Center / 550 West Morse Blvd, Winter Park, FL 32789, in memory of Mary Alice.
