Mary was born in Somerville, Massachusetts to James and Catherine (nee.McGovern) Finneran. She earned a nursing certificate and served our nation as a nurse in the US Navy during WW II. She is survived by  six of her seven children: Peter Cummings, Timothy Cummings, Michael Cummings, Jane Cummings, Kelly Cummings and Kate Cummings. She was preceded in death by her son Gregory Cummings.
