Mary Virginia Dinkins, a cherished member of a pioneering Dunnellon, Florida family, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love ones on September 7,2026. Born on December 18,1948,Mary Virginia was a pillar of her community and a dedicated keeper of her family's nearly century-old legacy.

The daughter of Chaplin Ambrose Dinkins, Jr. and Virginia Elizabeth (Byerly) Dinkins, Mary Virginia spent her early career building a life in Richmond working for the State bar of Virginia. However, when her father fell ill in 1978,her deep devotion to family called her home. She returned to Dunnellon to run the historic Dinkins Service Store alongside her late brother, Chaplin (Dink) Ambrose Dinkins Ill ,managing operations for decades and preserving an essential piece of local business history.

Mary Virginia was a woman of exceptional work ethic, kindness, and dedication to her community. Her love for life, people, and God showed through every beautiful smile she shared with those she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Chaplin (Dink), and her sister, Elizabeth LaRue Dinkins. She is survived by her loving brother John Lester Dinkins and his wife Arlene, their two sons; Chap and Davis, their wives and children, as well as other extended family, neighbors, and lifelong friends. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary Virginia will be laid to rest at a private graveside service in the Rockwell Cemetery of Dunnellon, Florida.
