Mary Linda Duncan, 71, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on May 20, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she was the daughter of Milton and Clara Payne.

Throughout her life, Mary embraced her roles with love and dedication. She cherished her family gatherings, and her courage and grace were especially evident during her battle with cancer. Mary had a deep love for gardening, where she found peace and joy tending to her flowers and plants. She also had a passion for interior design, using her creativity to make spaces beautiful and welcoming, reflecting her vibrant personality and flair as a true fashionista. She was known for her infectious laugh, sharp sense of humor, and her ability to light up every room she entered. A classy and compassionate woman, she always had a taste for the finer things in life.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Clara Payne; her siblings, Bonnie M. Payne, Laurel (Lolly) Payne and Susan Murray; and her sisters-in-law, Patty Brown Bordan and Shirley Fritz.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Ken Duncan; her brother, David (Barbara) Payne of Jenison, Michigan; her sister, Beth (Gary) Fiedorowicz Pipe; her brothers-in-law, Dave (June) Duncan and Ron Fritz; her step-son, Brent Duncan (Kristin); her many nieces and nephews; and extended family, including 45 great-great nieces and nephews; and her very special canine companion, Benjamin, who brought her comfort and joy.

Her legacy of warmth, laughter, and style will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
