Bradenton, FL – Mary Louise Fice, affectionately known as Marylou, passed away peacefully with her daughter Kate by her side on February 17 ^th at the age of 85. Born on August 20, 1939, Marylou grew up in Beaver Dams, New York. She was the cherished daughter of the late John B. Diffenderfer and Kathryn (Hall) Diffenderfer.

Marylou spent many years working in restaurant management, education, and nutrition counseling, but her favorite job was hosting large family gatherings and doting on her grandchildren. She had a keen mind and quick wit that even dementia couldn't stifle.  She was a voracious reader of history and philosophy, and a passionate researcher of our family genealogy. Marylou had an amazing garden and was a wonderful cook and baker.

Marylou is fondly remembered by her brother, William Diffenderfer, and her children: John (Sue) Fice, Dave (Karin) Fice, Mary Jennifer (Greg) Hammett, and Mary Kathryn (Walt) Delap. She was a proud grandmother to Hailey, Joshua, Isabelle, Graydon, Zachary, Jack, and Ava, and will be missed by several extended family members. Marylou was predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Leon Ray Fice, and her siblings, John Diffenderfer and Robert Diffenderfer.

Marylou will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. Her warmth and compassion touched many lives.

In accordance with her wishes, Marylou will be cremated. There will be no formal services and a private celebration of her life will be held later in the year.
