IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary
Girouard
January 31, 1934 – June 2, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Jo (Jodi) Girouard. Jodi was born on January 31, 1934 and passed on June 2, 2025. She was a vibrant and adventurous spirit whose presence will never be forgotten.
Before moving to Yalaha with her late husband, Jim, in 2012, Jodi lived at an air ranch in Ocala. There, she earned her pilot's license sharing Jim's passion for aviation. They also traveled extensively in their motorcoach, journeying from Key West to Alaska and many points in between, creating cherished memories along the way.
In recent years, Jodi found joy in her Casita, camping with a group of women she met in South Florida. Her zest for life and sense of community were evident in every interaction.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Stargel and Barbara Stargel Bellheimer, as well as her first husband, Jerry Atchley, her second husband, James Girouard and her stepdaughter, Deborah Stalvig.
She is survived by her sister, Stella Mae Hulls; brother, Joseph Stargel; children, Pamela Atchley Ivey, Ray Atchley, and Greg Atchley; and stepchildren, Michelle Balluf, Patrick Girouard, Marc Girouard, and Paul Girouard. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Jo graduated from City High School in 1952.
Let us remember Jodi for her adventurous spirit, her beautiful smile, and the energy she brought into all of our lives. She will be deeply missed.
