Mary Ellen id survived by: Dr Gerald D Hill III, her older brother, McLean, VA, USA;  Karen Hill Batchelor, her older sister, Wilmington, NC, USA and Kathryn Hill Oghigian, her younger sister, Vancouver, BC, Canada

Mary lived her life with gusto and on her own terms, determined not to let juvenile diabetes rule her life. Born an "Army brat," Mary grew up on bases around the eastern US and in Taegu, Korea, before moving to Florida as a young woman. She was especially close to her paternal grandfather in Beaufort, NC, and her youngest sister, Kathryn. She worked for the State of Florida as a tax auditor until her retirement and then became a cherished member of the Serendipity community.

Mary found peace just days after her 61 ^st birthday, with her beloved sister, Kathryn, at her bedside and her family praying for her. She will be cremated and her life celebrated by her family in the near future.
