Mary Eugenia "Jean" Jackson passed away at her home on April 3, at the age of 81. Jean was born in Augusta, Georgia on February 11, 1937. She grew up in Orlando after her family moved here in 1942, and she was a member of one of the first classes to graduate from Boone High School. Jean devoted her adult life to making a happy home and taking wonderful care of her loved ones. She had a great sense of humor and was an avid reader who also enjoyed sewing, cooking, movies, camping trips, and football games. She adored all animals but had a special place in her heart for cats.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Jennings, and her four brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Wayco; her daughter, Lisa; and the two granddaughters she and Wayco raised, Charity and Leslie. She's also very missed by her three cats, Sammie, Tammy, and Georgie.

The family plans to have a private service later. In lieu of flowers, they've asked that people who want to celebrate Jean's life please consider making a donation on her behalf to the ASPCA or a local animal rescue group.
