Mary Louise
Walsh
Jul 18, 1952 — Jun 19, 2026
Mary Louise Walsh, RN
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Louise Walsh, RN, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, nurse, mentor, community advocate, and friend on June 19, 2026. Formerly of Hingham, Massachusetts, she resided in The Villages, Florida for the last decade.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Michael; her sons, Michael (Tina) and Brian (Kerri); her brother, William Hogan (Lauren); her sister, Kathleen Fitzgerald (Ernie Parkes); her cherished grandchildren, Aedan, Robby, Francis, Addison, and William; her extended family, including Michael’s siblings and their families; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, former colleagues, and fellow nurses whose lives were enriched by knowing her. She was predeceased by her parents, William G. Hogan and Doris M. Hogan.
Mary’s greatest joy was her family. She and Michael shared 50 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, partnership, and devotion. Together they raised two sons and created a lifetime of beautiful memories. She treasured time with her children and grandchildren and took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments. She also cherished the bonds she shared with her extended family and friends.
Caring for others was at the heart of who Mary was, both in her personal life and throughout her extraordinary nursing career of more than 50 years. A highly respected nurse leader and mentor, she was known for her compassion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Throughout her career, she touched countless lives and earned the admiration of patients, families, and colleagues through her dedication and genuine care for others.
Among her many professional accomplishments, Mary was especially proud of her years at Hebrew SeniorLife. She also served as the first two-term president of the Infusion Nurses Society. The accolades she received throughout her career reflected the lasting impact she had on those she served and on the profession she loved. In every role she held, Mary made a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Mary will be remembered by all who knew her for her compassionate heart, her strength, her dedication to helping others, and the example she set throughout her life. While she made a significant impact on the field of nursing, her greatest legacy is the love she shared with her family and friends. The memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave will continue to live on through all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Hingham, Massachusetts, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary’s memory to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (https://www.theaftd.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/) or The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (https://www.aacnnursing.org/foundation/donate/guest-donation).
