Mary is survived by her husband Michael J. McCarthy of Ocala, her daughter Kathleen E. McCarthy, of Gainesville, Florida, her son Peter J. McCarthy, of Lyndhurst, Virginia, her granddaughter Savannah C. McCarthy and her fiancé Trevor Martin, of Lyndhurst, Virginia, and granddaughter Emma G. McCarthy, of Lyndhurst.  She is also survived by her Sister Patricia Riehl, brother-in-law James McCarthy, and sisters-in-law Emma Jane McCarthy and Maribeth McCarthy, and Evelyn Kennedy

She is preceded in death by her parents James F. and Lena Kennedy, her brothers James Kennedy and Thomas Kennedy, her parents-in-law James F. McCarthy and Katherine McCarthy her brothers-in-law Jack McCarthy and Dennis McCarthy, sisters-in-law Margaret McCarthy and Caroline "Pinky" Kubinak, and her nephews Sean McCarthy and Robert McCarthy.

Mary was very close to her nephew Timothy Kubinak and niece Sharyn Everett.  She was also very close to Jacqueline and her children Marissa Wolfe, Rachel Wolfe, Kate Wolfe, and Gary Wolfe, deceased.

Mary was known my many names, Mary Margaret Claire Kennedy McCarthy, Mom, Gram, Grammy, Aunt Mary.  All were out of respect and well deserved.  Those who called her Mary, knew her as a friend that they could count on.  Those who called her mom will remember a woman who gave every part of herself all the way until the end.  Those who called her Gram or Grammy will remember how she helped raise them as one of her own.  Those who called her Aunt Mary will not forget that they were loved and care for, with an open door.

Mary was known for being able to do most anything.  Sewing and crafts were a specialty.  She had a great sense of humor and wit.  She made everyone feel like they were family.  She will be missed by all that she has touched, from her hometown in South Amboy, New Jersey, to the Marines around the country, those in the Shenandoah Valley, to her "family" at Rolling Greens, and especial to her family that will have a void of that special woman who helped mold us into the people we are today.

Don't Grieve

Today I left my loved ones and as I go I pray

Lord don't let them grieve too much because I died today

Let there be no crying echoing the halls,

The same rooms that held laughter and answers to my calls.

I pray they all take comfort accepting that to heaven I know the way

And listen when I tell them these things are today:

Love will be forever, a promise that will last .

So love me more then ever now that my time with you has passed

And most Importantly remember the tremendous love to be,

When in heaven our eyes meet once again for all eternity
