IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Anne
O'Farrell
July 19, 1942 – July 4, 2025
Mary Anne O'Farrell, 82, of Daytona Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025. She was born on July 19, 1942, to the late Edmund and Mary (Scalo) Sciullo. She married Donald Silverman with whom she raised their daughter Terri Thomas. After a divorce, she married Donald G O'Farrell, which ended in his passing in 1989.
Mary Anne remained a kind and enthusiastic person until her death. She was always up for an adventure, was a competitive game-player, and an excellent cook. She loved whole-heartedly and was an instant friend to everyone she met. She will be missed by all those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Mary Anne graduated from the Academy of Holy Cross in Garrett Park, MD in 1960. She helped to support her family working for JK Moving, Medical Credentialing, AVIS, and the Delaware Center for Horticulture, and worked for many years in Federal Government agencies in Panama, Washington, DC and Bethesda, MD.
Mary Anne retired in 2012 and moved to Port Orange, Florida. She was a member of the Maryland club, the Italian club and enjoyed traveling to Costa Rica, Mexico, and especially Italy. Her favorite trips were those to St. Leonard MD to visit her daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. She loved cooking most! Christmas Eve dinner was not just a meal but an event. She moved to Harbor Chase Assisted Living Facility in March, 2024. She lived her best life there, enjoying the company of friends, playing games, and acting as an Ambassador, working with residents and management to improve senior services.
Mary Anne is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Terri Thomas, son-in-law Justin Thomas, grandson Kyle Thomas, and granddaughter Tessa Thomas. She is also survived by her brother Edmund M. Sciullo (Pat Sanders) and sister Ronnie J. Sciullo (Frances Baker) of Port Orange, FL; her maternal aunt Natalie Marcuccio of Myrtle Beach, SC; her God-son Joseph A. Sciullo and family of Richmond, VA; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews who she loved dearly. Mary Anne is predeceased by her husband, parents, and a twin sister who died at birth.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 23, at 11:00 am at the United Church of Christ of New Smyrna Beach, 203 Washington St., New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 . Any remembrance donations may be made to Gifts of Love Food Bank, 820 Park Ave, Edgewater FL 32132.
