Mary Margaret (Peggy) Pomeroy, 78, of Oviedo, FL, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on April 13, 2025, with her devoted husband Ronald at her side.

Peggy was born August 31, 1946, in Uniontown, PA, to Charles and Betty Moore of Masontown, PA.

Peggy spent her childhood in Masontown, graduating from Albert Gallatin High School (Class of 1964), where she was a National Honor Society student and a High School Band Majorette.

Following high school, Peggy graduated from Morgantown Business College and began working as a medical secretary. In 1966, she married her high school sweetheart, Ron Pomeroy, a newly commissioned Air Force officer, and they travelled around the country, adding to their family along the way. While being a devoted mother to their two sons, Scott and Michael, Peggy earned a degree in accounting from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and worked as an accountant and auditor in Nevada and later in Ohio.

Following Ron's retirement from the Air Force in 1990, Peggy and Ron moved to Oviedo, Florida, and together they both began new careers. Peggy worked for the Orange County Budget and Comptroller's office as an account supervisor until her retirement in 2002.

When she was young, Peggy came to Christ in the Brethren Church through the kind words and encouragement of her grandmother. Peggy was an active member of the Carillon United Methodist Church and later St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Oviedo. She served her church family in many ways, whether as Church Treasurer, adding her voice to the choir, or teaching Bible Study classes.

In retirement, Peggy researched and documented her family's genealogy and made beautiful quilts for her growing family and for Lutheran World Relief. She loved traveling the world with Ron and visiting Europe as well as Israel, where she renewed her faith while walking in Jesus's footsteps. However, her best trips were to see her two children and four grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ronald Pomeroy (formally of Point Marion, PA, now residing in Oviedo, FL), and her two sons, Scott and Michael Pomeroy. She is also survived by Scott's wife Lisa, and their children Nick, Lauren and Cate (East Greenwich, RI), and by Michael's daughter Sara (Beavercreek, OH). Peggy is preceded in her passing by her parents Charles and Betty Moore (Masontown, PA), her sister Kathy Moore (Masontown, PA), and her brother Bob Moore (Rawlings, MD).

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Oviedo, Florida at 10:00 am on Monday, April 28. Burial will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL at 2:00 pm. Arrangements are through BaldwinCremations.com, Winter Park FL, 407-662-0000
