Mary Jo Schulte, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Hope Hospice. She was 90 years old. Mary Jo was born on May 9, 1932, in Delmar, Iowa, to the late Leo Hand and Catherine (Burke) Hand.

Mary Jo leaves behind her sons Bill Schulte and Bob Schulte; 4 grandchildren Chris, Tanya, Miralee and Chandra; and 3 great-grandchildren Aria, Aidan and Conrad.

Mary Jo is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Schulte; her parents Leo and Catherine Hand; and sister Carol Ann Roeder and brother-in-law Larry Roeder.

Mary Jo was raised in Welton, Iowa. She achieved her bachelor's degree in Teaching and Economics at the University of Northern Iowa. Married in 1954, Mary Jo raised her two sons in Omaha, Nebraska. After retiring William and Mary Jo lived a number of years at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, before finally moving to Fort Myers, Florida. She loved boating, golf, bridge, playing cards and board games with her grandchildren, flying small aircraft, piano and people.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday August 6 ^th , 2022, at 9:30 AM, with visitation at 9:00 AM, at St. John XXIII Catholic Church in Fort Myers, Florida.
