Mary Jacqueline Syrotchen, known to friends and family as Jackie, passed peacefully in her sleep at Orchid Cove Nursing Home in Labelle Florida on December 15, 2022. Jackie was born in Waterbury Connecticut on November 12, 1933. She is predeceased by her parents Donat and Albina Lampron, her brother Robert Lampron, and her husband John Syrotchen.

John was the love of Jackie's life. They raised their family in Cheshire Connecticut, where Jackie resided until losing John much too early in 1987. She moved a few times within Connecticut before making Fort Myers Florida her home.

She is survived by her four children, Debbie, James, Nancy, and Gail, her four grandchildren, Glen, Sarah, Lindsay, and Megan, and one great grandchild Jayla.

To know Jackie was to love her. Her family was always her priority, and her arms and home were always open to friends, extended family, and sometimes strays. Jackie loved to cook and always made enough to feed an army. She would get up every morning with John and make a lunch not only for him, but also his crew. We all try to duplicate her favorite dishes, but none are as good as her preparations.

Jackie's home was her castle and she always enjoyed working in her yard, stacking wood, cooking, cleaning, and caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She opened her home more than once to extended family members who needed her help. She loved road trips with her family and would keep her children occupied with songs and nursery rhymes, a few in French. She loved to be hugged and give hugs and wasn't shy about it. We will all miss this kind and generous soul.

Jackie lived her life simply and has chosen to leave this world simply. She will be cremated, and her family will hold a celebration of life in her memory soon.
