Obituary

Mary Louise Tedeschi

Born February 9, 1934    Died November 28, 2021

Mary Lou died peacefully Sunday 11/28/2021 at Gulf Coast Hospital in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was born and raised in the city of Boston, MA, the second oldest of four children born to Dr. John P and Mary Treanor.

The day of her birth on February 9 th , 1934, was the coldest for that day in Boston's recorded weather history. Lou was anything but, she was a very warm, generous and loving person. She was a lifelong devout Catholic, and always active in every diocese to which she belonged. Mary Lou was involved with the Lady's Sodality, the church choir (she loved to sing), as well as many other social and fund raising events over the years. Lou also had many interests and pursuits. She excelled at knitting and sewing, and was an avid reader, loved the beach and always had a wry, sassy sense of humor. She had a gift for cultivating and maintaining friendships and acquaintances. Lou had the ability to leave a positive lasting impression with everyone she met in life.

She attended Boston Girls Latin School and Framingham State Teachers College. She married her High School sweetheart, Bill McDermott in 1954, and soon after gave birth to her only son, Michael. The little family then moved to Cohasset, on the south shore of Boston. Lou then became very active in St. Anthony's Catholic Church for many years.

After her divorce in 1970, she met the true love of her life, Edward Tedeschi, and they became married in 1973. Their life together was a celebration full of love and devotion to each other and their comingled families of, now six! Together, they had a vigorous relationship and a devotion to one another that was truly beautiful. They embarked on many adventures domestically, and throughout the world. This dynamic couple lived in many places including Vancouver BC, Virginia and Connecticut before settling back in Cohasset, MA.

Following her husband's death in 2012, Lou moved to Ft. Myers, Florida to be close to her sister and lifelong cohort Kate, her husband Connie, and her loving and doting niece Maureen.

Lou is survived by her sons Michael, John, her daughters Sherin and Alise, and her sister Kate. Lou aka Nana had many grandchildren -Megan, Shannon, Michelle, Brendan, Jessica, Nicole, Elizabeth, Christopher and Jeremy. Lou also had four great grand children – Felicity, CJ, Jace and Ava Louise

There will be a celebration of her life locally, at St. John the 23 rd Catholic Church in Ft. Myers, FL. on December 16 th , 2021 at 10 AM. She will be interred with the love of her life Ed, in the summer at Bourne Military cemetery in Massachusetts. The date has yet to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in her name to the American Lung Association.
