Obituary

MaryBeth MacNab Smyczynski, a resident of The Villages, FL since 2005, passed away on June 22, 2025 after complications from a surgical procedure. MaryBeth was born on January 15, 1943, in Scranton, PA to Alexander MacNab and Josephine Bronowicz MacNab.

She graduated from Scranton Technical High School in 1960. After graduation, she moved to Norfolk, VA and began her 30 year career working for the US Navy. While in Virginia, MaryBeth met and then married the love of her life, Daniel Smyczynski in1991. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She retired and moved to The Villages, and loved everything about it. MaryBeth and Dan were active in the Toys for Tots charity, and MaryBeth was an enthusiastic supporter of Dan's Dragon Boat Team. Over the last 17 years she has valiantly battled Parkinson's Disease. Her family will miss her thoughtfulness, sense of humor, and generous spirit.

She is survived by her children Douglas Scott  and Sandee Minehart; and her grandchildren Travis Minehart, Brent Minehart, Ethan Scott and Emma Scott; as well as her sister Venita Murphy; nieces Christine Bowers and Laura Pezowicz; and nephew Bryan Murphy. MaryBeth is predeceased by her parents; her sister Carol Pezowicz; her nephew Kevin Murphy; and her husband Daniel Smyczynski.

Friends and family are invited to a reception at the Mulberry Grove Recreation Center on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025, from 2:00-4:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a personal gift to the Michael J.
