Maureen Ann (Foley) ManganMaureen Ann (Foley) Mangan, 75, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, after a long illness.Born on August 27, 1950, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Maureen was the daughter of William and Ann Foley. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Sean Foley.Maureen was a proud graduate of Mount Saint Mary College in Hooksett, New Hampshire, where she earned her degree and began building the foundation for a life defined by hard work, friendship, and determination.She is survived by her beloved husband, John “Jack” Mangan; her son, Christopher Hatem of Hampton, New Hampshire; her daughter, Tara Hatem Brown of Merrimack, New Hampshire; and her cherished grandchildren, Dillon, Aiden, and Mason. She is also survived by extended family members and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by her presence.Known affectionately as “Mo” to her friends, Maureen lived life with enthusiasm, determination, and a competitive spirit that was impossible to miss. Whether she was playing cards, enjoying a game of mahjong, or participating in one of her many beloved water volleyball matches, she brought energy, passion, and joy to everything she did.Water volleyball was one of Maureen’s greatest passions. She not only loved playing the game but also teaching others, organizing teams and leagues, and helping build the sense of community and friendship that surrounded it. To many, Mo was the heart of the pool deck, bringing together teammates and friends through her love of the sport. Her competitive nature was matched only by her love for the people around her, and she formed many lasting friendships through the game she loved.Maureen worked as an accountant for a dental practice, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and attention to detail. Outside of work, she found happiness spending time with family and friends, enjoying the water, and making memories with those she loved most.Strong, loving, and passionate about life, Maureen leaves behind a legacy of friendship, perseverance, and kindness. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her fierce competitive spirit, and the joy she brought to every gathering. Her family and friends will deeply miss her laughter, her strength, and the love she shared so freely.The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff who provided compassionate care during Maureen’s illness.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice of The Villages, Florida, in recognition of the care and support they provided to Maureen and her family.
