Maurice "Pat" Blackwell, 84, of Ocala, Fl passed away on August 2, 2024 from a long illness.

Born at home on March 17, 1940, in Napanoch, NY, he came into the world weighing less than two pounds. As the story goes he was wrapped up next to a warm brick placed in a shoe box and rushed to Kingston the nearest hospital. Unsure of whether he would live, the nurses named him Pat after his birthday and it stuck!

Pat worked for the telephone company for 33 years, and was an Amway distributor, prior to that he worked at Channel masters, and was the dog catcher for town of Fallsburgh. He was a Mr. Fix-it and could pretty much do anything.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Pat met the love of his life Edith on a blind date in 1960. They Married the following year and would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this month.

Pat is survived by his wife Edith, daughters Bonnie and Pattie and son James. 6 grandchildren Trista (Richard) Fello, Katelyn Blackwell, Dylan Blackwell, Jared Smith, Joseph Pena, and James Pena, and Two great-grandchildren Noah& Logan Fello. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date in NY.
