Obituary

The family of Maurice (Moe) Finn is deeply saddened to announce his passing on March 19th, 2026. Born on December 24th, 1948, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Moe lived a life of joy. Joy because Moe entered every day with a positive attitude, a zest for life, knowledge and new challenges. Moe never took the straight lines in life going from points A to B, he purposely steered for the curves, turns and forks in the road. You see, Moe had no boundaries, he loved challenges, he loved to make a difference. When it came to people, Moe had a special talent of seeing the good in all, seeing the opportunities and challenges and whenever possible, making things better. Moe was the man that held doors open for others, he let others enter before him, Moe was a giver. Moe may have moved on into the Kingdom of Heaven, however, his impressions and impact on others will be passed on for generations.

Moe spent more than three decades working for Bridgestone Retail Operations. He started his career working in numerous Firestone Complete Auto Care locations throughout the Boston market. Moe was known as a Store Fixer, meaning he would go into an underperforming store and quickly build a winning team that focused on superior customer service. Then Moe advanced into leadership roles where he became the leader of leaders. Moe then set his sights on the corporate level of management where he ultimately found his calling, his expertise, his signature so to speak. Harvey S. Firestone was quoted as saying; “The growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership.” Well, Moe heard that calling and led the Northeast Zone Education Department. Moe’s passion was training, coaching and mentoring teammates new or tenured. When Moe was in front of a group of teammates, there was no one better, Moe commanded the room, Moe’s personality and strong Boston accent maximized everyone’s ability to retain what he was teaching. Moe was a master at his trade, a master of developing and growing talent, he found his calling to leadership. Moe expanded his reach and talent, sharing his wisdom and abilities with the Southeast Zone and then finishing up his career with CFNA, the banking/credit division of Bridgestone Retail Operations.

Moe loved his family dearly. Maria, his wife of nearly 56 years, stood by his side faithfully every day. Moe and Maria met in High School where it was love at first sight for Moe. Maria made Moe work for the relationship though. Maria was a shy quiet young woman and Moe was loud, proud and full of confidence. Moe may have commanded the room; however, Maria set the stage for a beautiful love story throughout their young adolescence and then into their golden years. Their love story resulted in two wonderful boys. First came David, then four years later came Christopher. Moe loved being a father, from playing catch in the backyard to coaching championship little league teams in the Haverhill ball fields. Moe loved his boys dearly. Moe was also known for his cooking skills, specifically his Chicken Parm…, he passed his love of culinary skills onto Chris, who now serves his customers made from scratch recipes in his very own restaurant. David inherited Moe’s thirst for knowledge and tackling challenges, David has spent his career as a problem solver (Airplane technician) with the US Air Force (Active Duty & Contractor).

Moe is survived by his loving wife Maria, their two sons: David and his wife Geri, Christopher and his wife Ann Marie. His grandson Jay and his wife Alli along with their daughter (Great Granddaughter) Zoey. Along with a beloved niece, three nephews and their families, countless friends and co-workers. Preceding Moe in death was his parents. Moe was an only child.

In June the family will hold a private celebration of life, back in Massachusetts where Moe’s ashes will be laid to rest and the family will get together to share stories, hugs and good food. The family asks in remembrance of Moe to simply; smile, open a door for a stranger and say in a boastful voice “How are you…”. Special thanks to the many nurses and doctors who cared for Moe in his final times. Moe will be missed by all.
