IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maurice
Roy
December 29, 1961 – January 9, 2026
Maurice "Moe" Roy
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Maurice "Moe" Roy on Friday, January 9, 2026, from a car accident. Maurice was born on December 29, 1961, to Rachel Landry Roy and George E. Roy of Biddeford, Maine.
Moe graduated from Biddeford High School in 1981, making many friends and keeping his teachers busy during his school years. After graduation, Moe went on to have a successful career in sales. His humor and large, engaging personality served him well professionally. During his career, Moe sold boats, cars and RVs in New Hampshire, Maine, and Florida. His most recent place of employment was at Camping World, where he managed the purchasing of used RVs for re-sale.
Moe moved to Lady Lake, Florida, in 2018, reconnecting with his old friend Bob Grimmer. In the last several years, Moe enjoyed socializing with the many friends he made in Florida. During the summers, he would travel back to Maine and New Hampshire to reconnect with his large network of northern friends and family.
Moe lived life to the fullest every day. He loved going out to eat and relaxing with a good cigar in the company of friends. He liked to post pictures of loaded Bloody Mary's, which always included several shrimp poking up on skewers, along with platters of oysters and seafood.
Moe was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, very proud of his "loud" Harley. He enjoyed motorcycle rallies and events, including Laconia Motorcycle Week, an annual bike event in New Hampshire. Although he loved his motorcycle, he was planning to sell it to buy a Jeep and become part of the Jeep community.
Moe loved his dogs. He was heartbroken when he lost Roosevelt and Eleanor. More recently, he lost Jake, who he helped care for with his former partner, April Woods, and remained very involved with her dog Max.
Moe is survived by his daughter, Meghan Roy of Austin, Texas, his sister and only sibling, Carmen Roy of Providence, Rhode Island, his brother-in-law Alex Speredelozzi, his niece Lily Speredelozzi, and former spouses Kathi Roy and Donna Dubois (Meghan's mother) both of New Hampshire. Moe had many cousins on both the Roy and Landry sides of the family and a huge network of friends from all aspects of his life.
A celebration of Moe's life will be held at The American Legion Post 347 in Lady Lake, Florida, on February 21, 2026, from 1-4pm. Another celebration of his life will be held in Maine in early April for friends and family. His ashes will rest with his parents at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford, Maine. The exact date and the final details to be announced. Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.
