Melissa A. Gilson was a loving and caring Sister and Aunt, she was unable to have children, but she loved her Niece as her own. Melissa left this world Thursday, August 18 ^th at age 57. She lost her battle with stage 4 cancer. She was born in Daytona Beach on July 17 ^th , 1965. Melissa graduated from New Smyrna Beach High School and received her Associates of Arts Degree from Daytona State College.

Melissa started her career right out of college and never looked back.  She was so passionate about her job, her co-workers and her clients.  They were her second family.

Melissa enjoyed reading, cooking, and trying new recipes which involved many different vegetables and spending time with her animals.

Melissa is survived by: John, Bobbie and Kayla. To honor Melissa's memory, we are holding a celebration of her life on September 3 ^rd , 2022, at Spruce Creek Baptist Church, 1952 Taylor Road, Port Orange, FL 32128. We invite anyone who knew her to attend and remember her wonderful life. We ask attendees to wear bright colors.
