Melvin John Morrison, Jr. (Boston Mel),73, of Silver Springs, FL passed away February 19, 2017.  Born in Boston, MA he came to this area 13 years ago from Lynn, MA.  He was retired Core Director for the Westborough State Hospital in Massachusetts and Catholic by faith.  Mal enjoyed Doo Wop Music and was an avid fan of all New England sports teams.  He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary; children, Kathleen Mary Hutchinson of West Brookfield, MA, Melvin John Morrison, III (Teresa) of Glouster, VA, Thomas William Morrison and Melissa Ann Tillinghast both of Silver Springs, FL and Nancy-Lee Morrison of Ashville, NC; 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  A Celebration of Mel's Life will be held at Baldwin Brothers' Heritage Chapel (954 E. Silver Springs Blvd. Ocala 236-5884) on Saturday, February 25th at 4PM.  A Celebration of His Life in Lynn, MA will be held on a later date to be determined.
