On Friday, November 16, 2018, Merilyn Thayer Pond graduated to her heavenly home. Merilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 31 years, Barry Pond, and her children, David Durant (Susan) and Patricia Finch (John). Merilyn will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Ashley, Samantha, Aimee, and Adam and her great grandchildren, Charlette and Claire.

A native Floridian, Merilyn was born on October 6, 1941, to Carol Brandon and Paul Johnson. Although she spent time in MA, CT, GA, and NC, Florida was always her home. She retired from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office after 20 years of service and moved to Ocala in 2009 with her husband Barry. An active member of the Christ Church of Marion County, Merilyn found joy in helping others and serving her community.

A Celebration of Merilyn's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Christ Church of Marion County, 6768 SW 80 ^th Street, Ocala, FL (352-861-6182) with Pastor David Bellows officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christian 12 Step Ministries in Ocala, FL.
